These nails were specially done to go with a pastel purple Kitten D’Amour wedding outfit. I wanted to do something that would match and compliment the dress but I still wanted to do a different design on each finger. I’m fairly limited with my colours at the moment. I just bought 5 more colours online but they haven’t come yet so I don’t have any purple nail polishes. Thus I decided to use French pink with purple accents drawn on with a purple sharpie pen. I was a little hesitant using such a dark purple colour but it was the only one I had. I tried it out and I think it turned out really well. It was so much easier to get the details with a pen then it is with polish too. Even better, if you mess it up you can just rub the sharpie off with a bit of polish remover without taking the gel polish off and start again.
Half way through my right hand, while I had the sticky tape on my nails to do the French tips my UV lamp busted and wouldn’t turn back on. I went all over town with half done nails looking for a replacement bulb but couldn’t get one that would fit so ended up getting a party UV light that would fit in the hubby’s lead light and just held my fingers up to that. Lucky that worked or I don’t know what I would have done. So the moral of the story is… Always have a back up bulb!
