Well hello! I’m back again! Are you up to date with the previous episodes of Dressed Up Dressed Down? If not why not check them out before you jump into this instalment. The first episode was styling jeans and a tee and the last one was all about a ribbed grey bodycon dress. As for today’s episode, I’ve got another bodycon dress for you all. If you’re up to date watch the video below or read on for the blog version.
The Base
I know for a lot of people bodycon dresses are on their “not for me” list but I’m hoping to change your mind at least a little by showing you how versatile they can be. Today’s bodycon dress is a blue ribbed midi dress with a slit up the side. This is one of my go-to dresses for pretty much any occasion.
Dressed Up
To dress it up I’ve layered a crochet/lace top over it and belted over both the dress and the top with a thin black belt. You’ve seen the earrings before but yes, I’m using them again. These layered pearl statement earrings dress up any outfit they are added to. And finally, some heels! These black lace-up chunky heels match in with the belt and help it to make sense. They also have the same slightly boho feel of the crochet top.
Dressed Down
Dressing this one down was a no brainer for me. Oversized denim jacket plus crisp white sneakers equal too cool for school casual day outfit. As for accessories, I’ve gone with a layered black choker and some edgy square stud earrings. I feel like this one could be cool with a funky cap as well, but all my hats are packed away in storage as well as all my handbags.
