Hello Lovelies! I have another series I’m starting on my blog for you all! As you may have gathered, it’s called Dressed Up Dressed Down. It’s just like it sounds. I’m going to be showing you ways to dress down an outfit for a casual day or dress it up for a night out. Today’s episode is all about the jeans and a tee combo. Check out the video below or read on for the blog version.

The Base

To start our first episode off, I thought I’d go with the classic jeans and a tee outfit combo. I’ve gone with a loose black scoop neck tee, my distressed black jeans and a basic black belt. But these combos would look good with whatever style/colour of jeans and tee you have in your wardrobe. The belt isn’t needed but I feel it does bring in some “je ne sais quoi”. It makes both the dressed up and the dressed down outfits more interesting.

Dressed Up

To dress this look up, I’ve added some strappy black lace-up chunky heels. Heels are a great way to dress up any outfit but don’t feel like you have to go sky high like I do. You could get away with a low heel or even a flat in a similar lace up sandal style. I liked the black heels with my all black combo but a pop of colour heel in a red or bright pink could be fun as well!

To dress this look up further, I’ve added a black and white grid patterned tweed blazer over the top. The blazer is one of the most dressed up members of the outerwear family. It will always elevate a look no matter what it is! The fact that it’s tweed only serves to classify it further! And finally, the last way to dress up this jeans and tee combo is to accessorize baby! Bring on the bling! I’ve gone with some layered pearl statement earrings, a blingy bracelet and a burgundy red cross-body bag with chain strap detailing. The bag is a great way to add in some colour to this all neutral look.

And to dress the look down I swapped the heels for white sneakers and the blazer for an oversized distressed denim jacket. Sneakers are my go-to shoe for a more relaxed look. They are perfect for running around in all day! Crisp white is always my favourite as they go with everything. They have a more casual vibe over a gym wear athleisure aesthetic. But if athleisure is the vibe you are going for than feel free to chuck on those brightly coloured gym shoes and rock them! My casual day look is completed with a pink suede cap to cover my “I couldn’t be bothered doing my hair today” hair. A big white grid patterned handbag to fit everything I need and a white and pink chunky watch to make sure I’m on time for all my errands are great additions too.
