Alice in Wonderland Bridal Shower Games

If you missed out on my first post in this series you can go back there to check out all the fun we got up to on the Alice in Wonderland themed bridal shower we planned. Every good bridal shower needs a few ice breaker games because more often than not you are mixing friend groups and sometimes family all into the mix. You will probably have people who don’t know each other. Bridal shower games are not only fun but they also get everyone interacting together. Here is an assortment of classy bridal shower games designed around the Alice in Wonderland theme but you can use these base premises and adapt them to whatever theme you have chosen.

I printed all of these out 2 to an a4 page. Cut them up and stuck them onto white card stock so that they would be easier to write on. I put one game on each side of the card stock to save paper and also so there was less things to carry around on the day. I put the wonderland name game on the back of the advice and well wishes because I thought it would be cute to have the bride have to guess who’s advice she’s reading depending on the wonderland name but then I realised I also left a space down the bottom of the advice for the name.

Who Knows the Bride the Best?

You can’t go wrong with the standard who knows the bride the best game. Ask a range of questions so that everyone has a good chance of getting some right. Add some standard ones in but then mix it up with some more personalised ones depending on the bride’s personality. Favourite movie and TV show are all well and good but make sure the bride can actually come up with something for this otherwise it gets kind of awkward. On the day the bride gets this card too and fills out her own answers so that you can compare everyone else’s answers to hers. We were very loose with point giving for some answers. The bride had the authority to give a point if she agreed with the answer as well as the one she put down. The most correct answers wins a prize.

2. When is the bride’s birthday?
3. What is her favourite colour?
4. What is her favourite food?
5. What is her favourite song?
6. What is her favourite movie?
7. What is her favourite TV show?
8. What is her favourite actor?
9. What was the bride’s first job?
10. What is her wedding date?
11. How did she meet the groom?
12. What is the name of her cats?
13. What is her middle name?
14. What does she think is the groom’s best feature?
15. Who was the bride’s first-ever celebrity crush?
16. What’s the first movie the bride ever saw with the groom?
17. If the bride could have any celebrity play her in a movie about her life, which celebrity would she choose?
18. Where did the bride go to university?
19. How long have the bride and groom been together?

What’s your Wonderland Name?

I was searching for more unique games that would fit into the theme and while not really a game this is a cute activity I couldn’t pass up including into the mix. The premise is pretty simple. The day you were born decides your first name and your birth sign gives you your last name. My name was Tillie Frabjous. You could make this into more of a game by having everyone write there wonderland name down anonymously, shuffle them and then have every guess who’s name is who. This could also be customised for other themes. You would just need to change the name options to something more appropriate for whichever theme you decide to go with.

He Said She Said

This is a fairly well known one as well. I have just altered the circling options to fit the theme. A queen of hearts crown for the bride and the mad hatters hat for the groom. If you haven’t heard of it before, all you have to do is figure out who said each statement, the bride or the groom. The most correct answers wins a prize of course. If you are putting this one together for yourself, compile a list of questions for the bride and groom to answer ahead of the day. Pick out the funniest and trickiest answers to guess and then put them in self contained sentences without any indication of gender. These are the questions I asked. Feel free to personalise them to your couple. For instance, my couple have quite the collection of board games and love gaming together.

The Questions I asked the Bride and Groom to be were:

1. If you could have any super power what would it be?
2. What is the craziest thing you have ever done?
3. What was the worst date you and your spouse went on?
4. If you could describe your spouse in three words what would they be?
5. What was the first thing you noticed about your spouse?
6. What is your pet peeve about your spouse?
7. If you could live anywhere in the world where would you live?
8. What is one thing your future spouse has taught you?
9. When did you know you loved your future spouse?
10. What are you most afraid of?
11. What is your favourite board game?
12. What is the most romantic thing you have done for you spouse?
13. What’s the longest amount of time you have spent gaming?

For example: The answer to one of the questions was “When he said ‘We should get a cat'”, so I wrote on the game, “I knew I loved my spouse when they said the words, ‘We should get a cat.'” It’s that simple. If the couple ever has the exact same answer for a question you can throw that in there too to really confuse your guests. Notice how I put “Circle One or Both” at the top of the page.

Advice and Well Wishes Mad Libs

This one is less a game and more a nice keepsake for the bride. The guests just have to fill in the gaps with whatever advice and well wishes they want to share with the bride. The more space you give them, the more room they have to be creative but I often find it’s harder to give unique answers on the spot in a crowd. Lead them with some sentence starters. It really is interesting to see how different everyone’s answers are. Make sure you have the bride read them out as well!

Prizes

I went out and bought a couple not too expensive prizes for whoever won the games above. In keeping with the theme we got a quirky little cup and saucer set and a cute necklace and glitter clutch. I had some other great prize ideas but I couldn’t find them when I went out looking (but I did leave it to the last minute).  If you have more time and luck then I do other ideas would be a pocket watch sweater chain necklace, an apron or just anything Alice in Wonderland themed, perhaps the movie DVD or book.
