I know it’s been a hot minute since I last wrote a post or uploaded a video. We finally moved into the house that we have been building. There has been a lot of work to do but I’ve got my own filming room setup up now so I’m hoping it will be much easier to get content out to you all now. For now, I’m back with another episode of Dressed Up Dressed Down and this time it’s all about Mom Jeans. Check out the video below or read on for the blog version.
The Base
On today’s episode of Dressed Up Dressed Down, I am featuring my new favourite pair of jeans – the mom jean! And yes, before you ask, I do like them more than my skinny jeans now! They are just so flattering, versatile and comfy too! I personally own a light wash, distressed knee pair with a roll-up hem which I got from Cotton On. But these outfits will work with whatever you have. Denim and mom jeans are just awesome like that! So, let’s get into it!
Dressed Up
For my dressed up look I’ve gone a little scandalous with a white lace bodysuit. I would have paired a nude colour bra or even a white singlet underneath to make sure it’s not see-through but as suspected from my last Shein Haul when I got it, the cups are way too small for me and it looked awful. That is why I have covered it up with my pink suede biker jacket. From far away I can get away with it but I probably wouldn’t wear this particular bodysuit out in public.
I do love the juxtaposition of casual ripped jeans with a sexy lace bodysuit though! I also felt like I really had to up the dressed-up-ness to have enough contrast between this and the dressed down version. For accessories I’ve gone with my basic nude pumps, some silver hoop earrings and my rose gold layered choker necklace set.
Dressed Down
I apologise in advance because I kind of spur of the moment filmed this outfit specially because I wanted to eternalize it before I retired these blue heels. (You can’t see it when I’m wearing them, but the inner soles are in pretty bad shape.) I do realise though that wearing heels in a dressed down look is a little um not practical. If you must, just imagine them as flat blue sandals instead. I love this outfit so much I couldn’t not film it for something. And the outfit just isn’t quite the same without the blue heels.
It’s one of those rare bright colour block type outfits that I absolutely love. In contrast to the many neutral coloured outfits I mostly wear. I paired these light blue heels with a creamy subtly striped singlet top and a yellow cardigan. The accessories are quite minimal. I’m not sure you can even really see but I just added some cream coloured rose stud earrings and that’s it. What do you think of my mom jeans outfits?
