Welcome back to “Four Seasons,” where we explore the versatility of wardrobe staples through every turn of the year! In today’s episode, we’re diving into the world of cargo pants. While I’ll be showcasing a cozy pair made from a thick corduroy fabric in a delightful beige hue with a loose fit and those signature pockets, remember that the beauty of cargo pants lies in their adaptability. Any similar pair can be transformed to suit your seasonal looks, from spring’s blossoms to summer’s adventures, autumn’s coziness, and winter’s warmth. Join me as we discover how cargo pants can elevate your style year-round. Let’s get started!
Summer
As we step into the sunny vibes of summer, these cargo pants bring a touch of laid-back comfort to the season. While they may not scream “summer cool,” I’m here to show you how versatile they can be, even in warmer weather. To counter the pants’ warmth, I’ve opted for a summer essential: a chic crop top. Opting for a tonal look, I’ve chosen a ribbed white crop top that feels as light as it looks, perfectly complementing the breezy feel of the season.
Pairing it with brown strappy sandals adds an earthy element, grounding the outfit while maintaining a relaxed summer vibe. Accessories play a key role in elevating the look. I’ve picked brown statement earrings that harmonize with the sandals, creating a cohesive flow. A subtly patterned polka dot headscarf brings a playful twist, and beaded bracelets provide a subtle hint of shimmer.
Autumn
As we transition into the cozy embrace of autumn, these cargo pants continue to shine with their versatility. In Australia, where the seasonal shift might not bring drastic weather changes, I’ve added just one more layer to evoke that autumnal charm.
For this look, I’ve paired the cargo pants with a brown crop top for a touch of seasonal style. Layered over it is a red plaid flannel shirt. Not just for style but also to add a cozy layer of warmth, a quintessential piece that screams fall weather. Embracing darker tones, I’ve opted for black leather sneakers with an animal skin-like texture (though rest assured, it’s faux).
When it comes to accessories, simplicity reigns supreme. A dainty gold necklace and small hoop earrings add just the right amount of elegance without overshadowing the cozy appeal of the outfit.
Winter
As we embrace the chill of winter, these cargo pants prove to be more than just a fashion statement—they’re a cozy shield against the cold. With their substantial weight and warmth, they’re perfect for keeping your legs snug during the frosty days. To add an extra layer of warmth, consider slipping on flannel stockings underneath.
For the top half, I’ve opted for a cozy knit sweater to complement the pants’ winter vibe. Since the cargo pants are already wide and bulky, I’ve chosen a cropped white turtleneck sweater. This helps to avoid adding excess bulk to the silhouette.
While style is key, staying warm is paramount. That’s why I recommend pairing the sweater with a long sleeve bodysuit in nude, white, or black for added insulation. To tie the look together, a brown leather belt not only adds a touch of sophistication but also matches perfectly with the handbag.
For footwear, ankle booties are a must-have. Mine feature a peep toe, although they don’t make for overly warm toes, especially in chillier climates. Regular booties can easily substitute for extra warmth without compromising style. Completing the ensemble are big silver hoop earrings, echoing the silver buckle of the belt for a harmonious finish.
Spring
As we welcome the refreshing vibes of spring, these cargo pants continue to prove their versatility in lighter, brighter hues. This time, I’ve taken inspiration from the autumn look but infused it with a springy twist.
For the top half, I’ve opted for a white baby tee crop top. This adds a touch of freshness to the ensemble. Layered over it is a light blue chambray shirt, styled with the sleeves rolled up for that effortless spring charm.
To lighten the overall look, I’ve switched out the heavy black sneakers for brown strappy sandals, perfect for embracing the warmer weather. Accessories play a key role in elevating the outfit. I’ve included some layered gold necklaces for a touch of elegance, along with a headscarf bandana featuring a fun, imperfect polka dot pattern, adding a playful element to the look.
The final piece that ties everything together is a straw handbag. It evokes thoughts of picnics and beach days, making it the perfect accessory for the spring season.
