Hello Lovelies! I’m back at last with another episode of my new series Dressed Up Dressed Down. This episode is all about my ribbed grey bodycon dress. Have you seen the first episode in this series? In that one, I dressed up and dressed down the classic jeans and tee combo – Check it out! Otherwise, head on over to Youtube to watch the video version of this weeks episode on scroll for the overview.
The Base
Today’s episode I’ll be showing you ways to dress down a ribbed grey bodycon dress for a casual day or dress it up for a night out. These outfit ideas I’m about to show you should work for any neutral coloured bodycon dress.
Even though this dress is figure-hugging, it kind of leans towards the more casual side because of its ribbed material and it is longer than mini length but that doesn’t mean it can’t be dressed up too.
Dressed Up
To do just that, I’ve layered a floral embroidered crop top over it. The texture of this top really elevates the grey dress and makes it look classier and more finished. Pulling the muted greens from the leaves of the top, I paired it with these mint and iridescent Gwen Stefani GX heels. While I love the look of these heels these aren’t ones I’d recommend though. They are impossible to get off and not particularly comfy which is really not a good combo but for the purposes of this outfit, they are a great match.
Another great match are these layered pearl statement earrings. I’m currently kind of in limbo right now with half my closet including all my handbags except one packed away in storage. If I had access to them right now, I would have paired this outfit with my pink and beige colour block clutch. Can you just pretend that I’m holding it?
Dressed Down
And to dress the look down, I’ve gone with my favourite white sneakers once again. I can’t help it! When I think casual day wear, I think crisp white sneakers! I’ve also chucked an oversized light-medium wash chambray shirt over the top and rolled up the sleeves. I’m undecided whether I like it tied in a knot or not, what do you think?
For accessories I’ve gone with a black choker with some rose gold layered necklaces, pink square studs and some rose gold circle glasses. And once again you’ll have to just use your imagination for the handbag. From my collection, I think I’d go with my white and black grid pattern tote bag.
Hope you’ve found some inspiration through this weeks episode. Stay tuned for the next episode. Spoiler alert: It’s going to be another bodycon dress!
