Following along from the Christmas 5 Ways to Wear It, today’s episode is in the same vein but for Valentine’s Day! I’ll be styling 5 different outfits for you to wear on Valentine’s day for 5 different occasions. Get ready for all the pink, red, hearts and roses! Watch the video below or continue on for the blog post version!
Outfit 1
Outfit number one is usually my work appropriate office look. While I don’t expect you to be having a Valentine’s date at work, you can still get into the spirit of love while you’re in the office. Valentine’s does fall on a Monday this year after all. First thing that came to mind when it comes to work appropriate Valentine’s outfits was my pink wide leg trousers. I paired them with a white singlet and a black and white tweed blazer with pearl button details. For shoes I’ve gone with my nude pointed toe pumps. Closed in shoes are generally more professional. The pointed toe paired with the matching nude tones in the pants is also going to make your legs look super long!
This black and cream handbag was the best choice from my wardrobe. But I’m really wishing I had something more beige and white as it would compliment the outfit perfectly. A handbag like this is on my wish list at the moment completely separate from Valentine’s outfits. For accessories I’ve gone really simple and classy. Some small pearl drop earrings to mirror the buttons on the tweed blazer.
Dressing for this love-filled occasion while you’re at the office might help set you in the right frame of mind for when you do get off work. Who knows maybe you don’t have time to go home to change so you just gotta rock that day to night look. If that is the case you could swap out the white singlet for a lace bodysuit or a silk cowl neck instead. I also swapped out some of the accessories as well.
Outfit 2
For my more casual Valentine’s outfit, I had to put together an outfit with one of my red love themed graphic print tees. It was hard to choose between “l’amour” and “J’adore”. I think they’re probably interchangeable. Pair these with a tweed skirt, white sneakers, an oversized denim jacket and a red cross-body bag. You’re good to go for a trip to the movies or an escape room or some other more casual date. For accessories you could either go a baseball cap, some stud earrings and a chunky watch or chuck on a statement necklace for a little extra glam.
Outfit 3
Outfit 3 I usually go for a more edgy look. So I was really torn between two directions to take it. But then had this epiphany; if you’re watching this video, I assume you “get into” Valentine’s day, at least somewhat. So I decided against the whole anti-love look. I just went for what you would wear if you have an edgy style aesthetic but still want to get into the valentine’s spirit without going all pink hearts!
And this is what I came up with… black denim cut off shorts, pinky nude crop top, snake print handbag, black rose earrings with layered choker necklaces, military boots and a black polka dot mesh dress over the top. Would you wear this?
Outfit 4
Outfit 4 is the wild-card outfit and I had a very hard time deciding which outfit to go with for this one. I had too many ideas! In the end I had to go with my pink lace blouse I got from Shein awhile back. It just feels like the penultimate valentine’s clothing item.
I went in a different direction than I would normally go though, layering a rust coloured silk midi dress over the top. Then I paired white booties and a pearl headband to the look. I’m not exactly sure what I would call this look but I love it! It feels a little preppy, cutesy and maybe eclectic. I also added blush pink earrings, some layered pearl bracelets and my white and pink chunky watch to the mix. What would you call this look?
Outfit 5
Outfit number 5 is always my date night look but since all of these are kind of date outfits I’m taking this outfit more to the sexy side of things. And that means red bodysuit! I paired that with my leopard print midi skirt which you might remember from my very first episode of 5 ways to wear it. Well here’s a 6th way to style it!
My good ole classic black strappy heels recently broke on me. So I’ve replaced them with this pair from Pretty Little Thing. These have a chunky heel instead of a stiletto heel but still have similar vibes. To complete this look, I accessorized with red angular hoops earrings and a long black crystal sweater chain type necklace. What are your plans for Valentine’s Day? I’m not sure we are doing anything yet. However you are spending it, I hope it’s a good day for you, whether you’re celebrating self-love, romantic love, familial love or friendship love! Let me know what your Valentine’s outfits look like! Happy Valentine’s Day!
